Science: Mrs. Louise Mistry

The 8th graders have started off the year very focused and ready to learn!  We are beginning the year with a study of animals, starting with very simple life such as corals and worms and finishing up with mammals and animal behavior. On Monday the students completed their first dissection lab, observing external and internal anatomy of an earthworm.  Tomorrow we will be dissecting clams.  The students are working on proper dissection techniques and making detailed observations.  They have done a great job so far.  Our current area of study is mollusks, arthropods and echinoderms.  The 8th graders completed their first test, which will be posted on Infinite Campus along with other grades.  Please encourage your child to take responsibility for checking their progress in each class.  I am enjoying teaching your children and appreciate their enthusiasm and positive attitudes!
