Welcome back!  It has been a great start to the new school year.  I really enjoyed this group of students last year and continue to look forward for them to come to my class each day this year.  This is a wonderful bunch of kids!

8th graders will be completing Chapter 1 next week with the chapter test on Thursday.  Chapter 1, Algebraic Expressions & Integers, was a review of many concepts of last year including writing algebraic expressions, integers, finding the mean, median, and mode of a data set, and the properties of numbers.  Chapter 2, Equations & Inequalities, will get them into more of an algebra mode.  We will spend time combining like terms and solving multi-step equations, very much the heart of algebra for next year.   It should be a year full of fun and learning!
