Social Studies - Nennig

Dear Eighth Grade Parents,

Thank you for all the wonderful flowers you brought in for the service day yesterday. We beautified both Freedom for Youth Campus and House of Mercy Campus. It was wonderful to see the kids work so hard together and find so much joy in giving to others. Thank you for your support and for encouraging a servant heart.

In social studies, we finally dug into our World War II study. The students have vocabulary and notes they should be studying over the weekend. Their WWII test will be next Wednesday. The students turned in their WWII research papers yesterday.

Our final mini-unit will be on the geography, history, and social problems of East Africa. This will be in response to the book they are reading in Language Arts as well as Fr. Komo’s Mission Jeans Day next week. We hope to inspire continued awareness of world issues as we send these young people off to high school.
